A health and safety survey will identify weaknesses in procedures and practices, identify the specific legislation that applies and inform the client of what is needed to remedy the situation in a cost effective, practicable manner.

The ProActive Health and Safety Survey is a safety net that trawls through legislation and sites/workplaces, to help ensure nothing is missed which might otherwise leave organisations and management exposed. Duty-holders are required to identify risks in the workplace and to reduce those risks as low as is reasonably practical. Risk Assessments consider the nature of the hazards, who might be harmed, the likelihood of an occurrence, the likely impact or injury, what precautions are in place and what reasonably practical additional and/or alternative precautions can be put into place to remove or reduce the risk.

With a multitude of legislation that started with the Chimney Sweeps Act and includes the substantial Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (as amended) plus many specific acts and regulations covering such topics as fire, disability discrimination, asbestos, display screen equipment and much more, plus of course all of the European safety legislation, some would say it is not reasonable for busy managers to be aware of all that they need to cover. When we assess risks we endeavour to produce a simple, prioritised set of recommendations so that busy people can use their time most effectively.
