In Toolbox Talks, we bring you a programme designed to offer you a solution to any problem or incident that can occur on the job. Toolbox Talks cover different topics and risks in health and safety for a variety of sectors. They also provide a learning experience that can help you and your employees in general. Each of the Toolbox Talks will offer an introduction, discussion of hazards, and learning areas that are important to you and your business.
It’s the chance to examine in detail a particular point of interest to you. We’ve already defined eight areas in which our consultants are specialised and you can find overviews and introductory discussions for each one on this website. What Toolbox Talks do is to drill down to specific matters in say Building and Construction, or in Leisure and Recreation.
The Talks are geared towards the particular incidents that may occur, so that you can be better prepared for any issues that arise. There are already over 150 different Toolbox Talks regarding the health and safety of owners, employers, and employees. Subjects include personal responsibility, safety signs, alcohol and drugs, first aid requirements, body protection such as the head, hands, and eyes, and much more.

Toolbox Talks also gives you the opportunity to learn about and address issues that can affect all sectors. A prime example is noise. Although some sectors may be more affected than others, noise pollution is an issue that regularly crops up. Noise in construction environments may need special attention. Among our Toolbox Talks we also explain how to create one of your own. Your own Toolbox Talk can be posted as information on your internal website, or presented as a live event to your employees. It allows you to prepare for passing on the information to the employees you are responsible for. Following our Toolbox Talks guidelines will allow you to make sure that the employees know what is asked of them, and what to do in an emergency. You can also get accreditation and certification, via the seminar on the Toolbox Talks, and you may also want to have your management staff receive certification.
